FLUXNET-CH4 V2.0: Towards a more global characterization of methane-emitting sites workshop (October 21 to 23, 2024)

This hybrid workshop will focus on data processing to facilitate the inclusion of new sites into FLUXNET-CH4 V2.0 and the FLUXNET 2025 data release. We also aim to foster collaborations and knowledge-sharing amongst flux scientists from across the globe.

PLEASE NOTE THAT IN-PERSON ATTENDANCE HAS REACHED MAXIMUM CAPACITY SO IF YOU HAVEN'T REGISTERED YET, WE LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING YOU VIRTUALLY.

Specific objectives of the workshop include:

  1. Provide an overview of FLUXNET-CH4 V2.0 and the FLUXNET 2025 initiative
  2. Provide tutorials and open-source code to facilitate the inclusion of new or existing sites into FLUXNET-CH4 V2.0 and the FLUXNET 2025 initiative. Additional guidance will be provided on gap-filling, and uncertainty quantification for flux tower measurements, with an emphasis on CH4 fluxes.
  3. Facilitate the inclusion of CH4 fluxes in the ONEFlux pipeline and thereby inform the next generation of the FLUXNET database
  4. Foster existing and new international community collaborations by bringing together students/postdocs and PIs from across the globe.
