4. Communication Technologies for Learning (CTfL)
Teachers should be confident in the use of information technologies for education and communication. They must be able to find, evaluate, store, present and exchange information securely, as well as communicate and participate in social networking through appropriate information technologies. They need to be able to integrate teaching approaches into e-learning environments, either face-to-face or in mixed environments with ICT support. They should be able to create their own personal environment for digital learning and encourage this process in their learners. Technologies should be integrated with the aim of enhancing teaching and learning but teachers need to be critically aware of the positive and negative aspects of CTfL.
