Join our advanced nonviolent skills building improv play shop for bystander intervention scenarios, which translates to situations when we unexpectedly encounter conflict, harassment, or violence between other parties. An opportunity to do work with various role-play scenarios that we create, including, for example, incidents of discrimination, micro-aggression, conflict escalation, cat-calling on the street, at the workplace, in the metro, etc. No prior experience necessary.
The workshop is FREE and designed for about 20 participants. Space is available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Facilitators:Charlotte Schoeneman runs Go Mom Go, a support group for divorcing moms is the DC Metro area. She is passionate about feminism, and interested in modalities of connection and healing, including NVC.
Dale Brown is a community advocate who is part of the Forest Hills Nonviolent Communications Workgroup. She is working on a project to increase transparency and accountability in the Washington DC municipal budget process. She has written five books, including a poetry book titled “I Know I Can Climb the Mountain.”

The DC Peace Team unleashes the power of ordinary civilians to increasingly serve their communities particularly as nonviolent peacekeepers, and by extension as peacemakers and peacebuilders. The DC Peace Team lives this mission by: deploying unarmed civilian protection units, providing training in various nonviolent skills, providing crisis mediation, and facilitating dialogues and restorative justice approaches.
