Criteria for Small Group Projects

Leadership Greater Huntsville is opening the application process for 2024-2025 Small Group Projects. LGH welcomes projects from all non-profits in the Greater Huntsville area.

LGH will consider applications from interested non-profits who meet the following criteria:

1. The applying non-profit must be a 501(c)3, 501(c)19 or educational institution in Madison County, Limestone County, or within 20 miles of Huntsville City limits.

2. The applying non-profit must have a short term project that has full approval from appropriate powers (i.e Executive Director, Board of Directors).

3. The applying non-profit must have a short term project that meets the following timeline criteria:

  • For a Flagship/Connect/Management Academy Small Group Projects: can be completed by a group of 5-10 people from the months of September 2024 - March 2025.  Projects that may exceed this time limit will not be accepted.

4. The applying non-profit must have a short term project with defined measurables and a clear end result.  LGH will monitor each project in accordance with these measurables.

5. The applying non-profit must have a designated POC from the organization that communicates directly with Small Group.

6.  The applying non-profit must have a short term project that is independently funded.  Excess funding needs must not exceed $1,000.

Applicants will be notified within two weeks of applications closing of whether their application has been moved to the second round of consideration. The second round of consideration will include a 20-30 minute meeting with representatives from LGH to further discuss the proposed project to determine if it is a good fit for one of our programs.

If a project is accepted, LGH will retain sole discretion on which program (Flagship, Connect, Management Academy, Spark, Challenge or Alumni) will complete the project.

If a project is accepted, LGH and the selected non-profit will work closely to monitor progress on the project.  LGH will require monthly updates on project progress from both Small Group Leaders and Non-Profit Leaders to ensure all deliverables are on-time and of acceptable quality.
