“Bayan Ko, Bayan Mo” translates to “My country, your country”. This year’s Pilipinx Youth Leadership Conference (PYLC), the Pilipino American Student Union (PASU) hopes to emphasize that regardless of one’s differences, our shared Pilipinx heritage and culture is enough reason for all youth to stand in solidarity with one another. By creating a communal place for us to come together and unite as Pilipinx/Pilipinx-Americans, we’ve struggled and thrived through many of the same overarching issues: a broken immigration system, systemic racism, wage theft, labor issues, and more. We embrace our differences through our shared motherland, heritage and culture to empower the youth for change. We hope to educate and properly equip our youth so that they may advocate for change in local, national and international issues, making a lasting impact on their understanding of our current world and giving them the ability to make a difference in the many issues that may arise in the future.

This conference will achieve this important goal by

-Exposing them to our beautiful history which continues within them, today
-Connecting them to a rich, shared cultural heritage through performance and activity
-Helping to facilitate life-long friendships and relationships amongst our many Pilipinx communities
