Hike NS will help promote events and provide a how-to guide and trail prizes to giveaway. If your municipality, First Nation or organization can organize a hike (or already plan to host a hike), please REGISTER YOUR EVENT HERE BY AUGUST 14, 2019 for events between September 13 and November 17, 2019. Only the first 50 events will be accepted (spots might fill up before the deadline, so don't delay). Note that one organization may register only up to **five hikes** and register only **one event per online form**. You will be contacted soon after the deadline to confirm the details of your event. Thank you.
-Schedule, organize and lead the guided hike event-Be responsible for participant safety and risk management-Must be covered by your own organization's insurance-Introduce Hike NS and your organization to participants before the hike-Pass out information Hike NS provides to participants-Following the hike, do a prize draw and give away trail prize(s)-Report to Hike NS on event results
-Take a lead on provincial media relations/publicity for promoting the guided hikes across the province (PSAs and news release), but please publicize your event to your own membership and local networks -Provide Hike NS pamphlets, speaking notes and other info -Provide an info guide on organizing your hike-Provide a “trail prize” – such as hiking related gear – to give away in a draw to participants
Note that Hike NS may not be able to have a representative attend your event(s) due to the large number of events and a lack of human resources.
