Florida Association of Professors of Educational Leadership voting ballot for the Board of Directors' (BOD) position of Treasurer.

Chris Curran

F. Chris Curran, PhD, is a Professor of Educational Leadership and Policy at the University of Florida. He has previously served as the program head for UF’s Educational Leadership and Policy program and now serves as the Associate Director of the School of Human Development and Organizational Studies in Education. He also directs UF’s Education Policy Research Center. He has been a member and regular attendee of FAPEL since arriving at UF and has served the past several years on FAPEL’s By-Laws Committee. Dr. Curran’s research spans a range of education policy topics including school safety and discipline, early childhood education, and teacher labor markets. He has developed trainings and workshops for leaders across the state of Florida and contributes frequently to policy discussions with state leaders and the public media.

 

Kevin E. Forehand 

Dr. Kevin E. Forehand is Assistant Teaching Professor and Program Director for the Educational Leadership and Administration M.S./Ed.S. programs at Florida State University. His work focuses on leadership preparation, instructional improvement, school turnaround, and the development of aspiring school leaders for contemporary K–12 contexts. He teaches courses in the principalship, instructional leadership, legal aspects of school administration, communication for family and community engagement, and data-driven school improvement. His scholarly and professional work includes a 2025 invited book chapter on leading for Black brilliance in marginalized schools, conference presentations on leadership capacity, teacher retention, dual enrollment, and principal preparation, and service connected to statewide leadership development. Dr. Forehand has also contributed to program redesign, curriculum development, and leadership preparation initiatives aligned to Florida’s evolving standards for school leadership. His professional service includes work with the Florida Association for Professors of Educational Leadership, the Education Law Association, and the Florida Department of Education’s educational leadership exam revisions efforts.
