The purpose of the Python Packaging Working Group is to support the larger efforts of improving and maintaining the packaging ecosystem in Python through fundraising and disbursement of raised funds. The Group focuses on efforts such as PyPI, pip, packaging.python.org, setuptools, and cross-project efforts.

A few notes:

* Your sponsorship will be handled as a donation to the Python Software Foundation (PSF), and allocated to the Packaging Working Group. The PSF (Federal Tax ID number 04-3594598) is a public charity under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code; please consult your tax adviser to determine the tax deductibility of your gift to the PSF.

* Sponsorships are assessed/renewed annually; you will be contacted before your renewal date to request a renewal.

* For financial donors, benefits will expire 12 months from the date of donation, i.e. logos will be removed from PSF properties after 12 months, unless the sponsorship is renewed for another year.

* Benefits for infrastructure donors (in-kind donors) will be assigned based on the commercial value of the donation, less any widely available discounts (e.g. if a sponsor offers a discount for open source projects, that discount would be applied).

* Other sponsorship levels may be recognized on a case-by-case basis.

* The Python Packaging Working Group reserves the right to reject donations or sponsorship from individuals, groups, or organizations that do not align with the values and behaviors outlined in the Python community code of conduct (see www.python.org/psf/conduct/).
