Angat Bayi Candon Young Women's Fellowship Program Application Form
The Candon Youth for Empowerment Movement in partnership with the UP Center for Women’s and Gender Studies (UPCWGS) and the UP Center for Women’s Studies Foundation, Inc. (UPCWSFI), with the support of the International Republican Institute (IRI), the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI), and the Office of the Vice President's Angat Buhay Program are launching the first Angat Bayi Candon Young Women’s Fellowship (ABCYWF) Program. The ABYWF aims to encourage young women to be politically active and develop their skills and capacities on feminist leadership.
We will select 20 young women who will attend an intensive and exclusive series of courses designed and customized specifically for them. The courses will run for two (2) consecutive days over a period of three (3) months.
18-25 years old women or trans women non-elected leaders or elected Sanggunian Kabataan of Candon City, Ilocos Sur who are interested in running for public office again next election.
The applicants will undergo an application and selection process. The final selection of Fellows will be made by academics from the University of the Philippines and selected mentors. A maximum of twenty (20) Fellows will be chosen and they will undergo short courses on topics such as (1) feminist leadership; (2) rights-based, democratic and good governance; (3) building and protecting democratic institutions and processes; and (4) promotion of active citizenship.
