2022 WCFH Call for Scores: Wind Quintet & Piano
The Women Composers Festival of Hartford embraces diversity of race, ethnicity, and ability. The mission of the Festival is to feature artists who identify as women, including transgender and gender-fluid individuals. The Festival is open to presentations from composers/performers/speakers who are willing to confront gender and other intersecting identities in their work.

The 2022 Ensemble-in-Residence will be the Hartford Independent Chamber Orchestra (https://www.hicomusic.org/). The available instrumentation for this Call for Scores is wind quintet and piano (flute, oboe, clarinet, horn, bassoon, piano), and scores using at least three of those instruments (eg. oboe, bassoon, and piano) will be considered.

Applications for the 2022 Call for Scores are open to composers who identify as women, including transgender and gender-fluid individuals. Submissions will be reviewed by a selection committee, including the Ensemble-in-Residence. A WCFH board member not involved in the selection process will remove identifying information to make judging more equitable and transparent.

The Ensemble-in-Residence Concert will be part of the WCFH 2022 Festival, March 11 - 13 at the University of Hartford's The Hartt School. Applications are due on October 1, 2021 at 11:59pm ET, and decisions will be sent via email by December 15th, 2021.

**We acknowledge that, given the circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic, we cannot predict whether our 2022 Festival will be in-person, fully virtual, or a hybrid combination.

How did you hear about this score call? *
I understand that if my submission is selected, I am required to attend the Festival (not just the Ensemble-in-Residence performance) and register for a Festival pass ($100 for professionals, $50 for students, adjunct faculty members, and seniors (ages 55+)). I understand that (fully credited) recordings and photography of works and individuals taken at the Festival may be used by the Women Composers Festival of Hartford for publicity, development, and archival purposes. Please Note: no composer, presenter, or performer will be turned away due to an inability to pay the registration fee. If you would like to discuss financial aid options, please contact us at womencomposersfestivalhartford@gmail.com. *
I acknowledge that the Festival is unable to provide any travel funding. I also agree to submit complete performance materials, including parts as required, within two weeks of selection notification. *
