    Writing Sample

This is the most important part of this application, so don't blow it off! Without a writing sample we will NOT consider your application. Your writing sample is the major consideration in processing applications. While spelling and grammar will be taken into account, your sample is judged primarily on creativity and general style. If your application is not accepted immediately it may be returned to you to be rewritten. Game play in Star Trek: Borderlands takes place as a continuing story, which is written and created by you and the other players assigned to your crew. What we are after is your "style" of responding to a role playing situation. The ability to "think on your feet" and pick up where another player's post leaves off is a necessity. Please note that you are given no scenario to write from. Since your sample is to be judged on creativity and ability to think on your feet we feel it appropriate for you to develop your own scenario. A scenario could be anything ..an alien encounter, an official or social discussion, preparation for a fight or even an aftermath description and events. Show us what you can do. While any length if writing is acceptable, Length of the sample should reflect your creativity and imagination. The depth of your sample should be sufficient for the readers/other players to understand and appreciate the surroundings, character, action and drama you are writing. Please write in third person past tense! Rather than writing: "I go to the replicator and get an ale" OR <<action>>walks to replicator takes ale You should write: "Bill (or whatever your character's name is!) walked up to the replicator and ordered an ale."
