The Award will honor the Pharma Leader for his outstanding contribution to the healthcare industry.Finalists were judged on their personal achievements, the contribution/difference the individual has made to the company where they work, financial highlights, and new initiatives that have been established. The healthcare industry is growing at a tremendous pace. This is due to the rise of incomes, easier access to high-quality healthcare facilities and greater awareness of personal health and hygiene. The total industry size is expected to touch US$ 160 billion by 2017 and US$ 280 billion by 2020. We expect to register a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 22.9% during 2015-20 to US$ 280 billion. The private sector has emerged as a vibrant force in India’s healthcare industry, lending it both national and international repute. In addition, it accounts for almost 74% of the country’s total healthcare expenditure. Investment in healthcare infrastructure is set to rise, benefiting both ‘hard’ (hospitals) and ‘soft’ (R&D, education) infrastructure. Therefore, we can say healthcare businesses have immense potential for new entrepreneurs.
