Use this form to submit your first page (~250 words) anonymously to the First Page Critique Panel. The deadline to submit is May 31, 2025.

You can submit multiple times. Please use a new form submission for each piece of work.

The First Page Critique Panel will be a Panel Session hosted on S.D. Huston’s YouTube channel during the 2025 AWC. The Panel will include several speakers to be determined, but all of who have experience in the publishing world. Shanon (S.D. Huston), J. L. Kauffman, and Devon Gambrell-Clack will act in the role of moderators.

All submissions are submitted anonymously by writers, and works will be chosen by a random drawing. Panelists will receive the work ahead of time, and during the First Page Critique Panel session, these same works will be read aloud.

Each panel member will raise their hand at the point where they would have stop reading, if they would have stopped before reaching the end of the page. Then at the end of the reading, panel members will be able to comment on what stopped them, and then give one positive note about the work.
