Hit the open road to explore a different region of the U.S., engage with fellow students and learn about social issues through volunteering in Memphis. Volunteer sites will be focused on illuminating social issues including urban education, food insecurity, and public health.
We will also visit a number of cultural attractions that may include: The National Civil Rights Museum, Sun Studios (the birthplace of rock 'n' roll), Graceland (home of Elvis Presley), Slave Haven Underground Railroad Museum, BBQ and more!
Total cost will be $350 per person for the week and will include lodging, transportation, our daily volunteering itinerary and most meals. Please plan to bring some spending money for a few meals out and some evening activities with the group.
We plan to hold pre-departure meetings with students who will be traveling to Memphis. The first mandatory meeting will be Thursday, February 16th at 6-7:30pm. Dinner will be served. Two additional meetings will scheduled based on availability. If you know of any scheduling conflicts with the February 16th meeting, please email Emlyn at
