Voluntary Action Harrow Co-op are hosting an advice clinic with London Catalyst.

London Catalyst is an independent grant-making trust. They provide funding for charities and not-for-profit organisations to deliver projects and improve services. Thier aims are twofold: to alleviate the effects of poverty, and to improve the health and well-being of Londoners, in particular people with mental and physical illness, long term health conditions and/or disabilities.

They will be coming to Harrow to run 1:1 advice clinics to local organisations who have a project idea. There will be an opportunity to discuss the idea with the funder directly. The funds available through London Catalyst are:

PARTNERS FOR HEALTH London Catalyst, the Hospital Saturday Fund and the Sir Halley Stewart Trust have come together to launch the 2019 ‘Partners for Health’ grant programme. Registered charities in London can apply for: grants of up to £10,000, for projects that will create positive outcomes for people facing significant barriers to health and wellbeing, a new approach, or a thoughtful development of a service and where the charity will be working in partnership with a health expert or health provider. PROJECT GRANTS support new initiatives and service developments targeted at people disadvantaged as a result of long term ill-health, disability and poverty. Grants range from £1,000 to £5,000; the average in 2015 was £3,900. Occasionally our trustees will take a special interest in and consider a larger grant for projects of particular merit. SAMARITAN GRANTS: a hardship fund which we make available to frontline health, social work and advice agencies to offer immediate assistance to people in an emergency. The partner agency distributes small one-off grants on our behalf; the average size of a hardship grant is £16, and 70% of all grants are for food and travel.
