Important Definitions:
Artist: The artists and featured performers publicly presented on the title of the musical work.
Composer: The individuals who wrote the song, the music, and lyrics that comprise the musical work. If you wrote and produced the track solely by yourself you would be the only Composer. If other people are credited as writers or you worked with other people on the track, they must be also included as a Composer. If the musical work was written wholly by an individual other than yourself, then they should be listed as the Composer rather than yourself.
Ex. "Rihanna - We Found Love ft. Calvin Harris" is a song recorded by singer Rihanna. It was written by, produced by and features Scottish DJ Calvin Harris. In this case Rihanna and Calvin Harris are both listed as artists in the title, whereas only Calvin Harris should be listed as the only Composer.
Performance Rights Organizations (PROs): PROs collect performance royalties when a musical work is shared with others, for example on terrestrial radio or when it is played in a night club.
Publisher: Publishers manage Compositions and register works at PROs. In addition, a Publisher collects royalties any time a musical work was used as a soundtrack with visual images in a film, video, or television show/commercial (Synchronization Rights).
Label: A record Label (or record company) help musicians distribute and sell their musical works.
