The Allegheny College Community Impact Hub (CIH) - Community-Engaged Learning Sub-grant Application for 2025-26
Allegheny College’s Community Impact Hub (the Hub) seeks applications from local community partners, Allegheny faculty/staff, and students for sub-grants in support of collaborative community-engaged learning (CEL) projects.

The Hub's Mission is to unite Allegheny College and local partners to address regional challenges, elevate community voices, and empower student learning through collaborative, cross-sector teams.

The Hub serves as a resource and catalyst for long-term improvements and sustained initiatives in five primary Impact Team areas: community & economic development, health & wellbeing, education & social development, arts & culture, and environment & sustainability.

Sub-grant applications are for funding levels of $500 to $10,000.
Collaborative proposals that involve multiple Impact Areas and partners and need additional funding may request a higher amount after consultation with the Hub Director and reviewing the FAQ.

The Hub is planning two funding rounds for the 2025-26 programming year:
ROUND 1:  Open Request for Proposals - October 24 to November 21, 2025 (deadline)
Round 1 decisions announced December 15th

ROUND 2:  Open Request for Proposals - Feb 2, 2026 to March 20, 2026 (deadline)
Round 2 decisions announced April 13th

Pending fund availability, a final round may be announced for Summer 2026.

Any funds awarded in any round during the 2025-26 Sub-grant cycle must be spent by September 30, 2026.

Sub-grants may be used to support expenses associated with CEL projects, such as supplies, equipment, travel, resources and training. Additional expenses may be considered.

**Funds may not be used for organizational operating expenses, such as salaries.

Applicants who receive sub-grants will be expected to sign a grant agreement with Allegheny College and submit a final written report (1-2 pages), including a financial report detailing grant expenses and complete assessments.

Applications will be reviewed by Hub staff and the Steering Committee(s) of the Impact Team(s) related to the proposal.

Please review the FAQ prior to submitting a proposal.

Questions about projects should be directed to Colin Hurley, Director of the Community Impact Hub, churley@allegheny.edu or 814-332-4318.
