The Friends of St Peter’s [FOSTP] was established in 1995 to promote and support St Peters Church.
Since 1998 it has been in the care of the national Charity: The Churches Conservation Trust [CCT].
We help preserve the historic building for the heritage and people of Northampton; we raise public awareness through the promotion and development of knowledge about St Peters and the adjacent area.
We support the work of the CCT and All Saints Parish in caring for the building and its churchyard in Marefair.
We are the key community group supporting the CCT project to regenerate and run the historic Old Black Lion Pub next door. This will run as a business with profits raised for St Peter’s maintenance.
We offer a program of Events which combine ‘live’ activities at the church with online ZOOM Local History talks.
There is a variety of opportunities to volunteer at the church and in its garden. We would love to tell you more about how you can help so let us know of any areas of special interest and skills that you would like to share.
