The 50th Anniversary of the National Black Political Convention (NBPC) will convene August 4-7, 2022 in the city of Newark, New Jersey. It will be co-hosted by Mayor Ras J. Baraka, Mayor Chokwe Antar Lumumba and musical legend Brother James Mtume. This gathering will not only reflect on the NBPC that took place in 1972, but will be a critical space for our movement forward as a people to create a new Black agenda that reflects our current priorities and goals.
Delegates are responsible for the engagement of organizations, community groups and individuals’ participation in caucusing and the ratification process. We invite you to be apart of this process.
Building a Delegation:
Delegates will build their delegation by inviting organizational partners to join their delegation.
Caucusing:
Delegates will participate in the day-long caucuses on August 6th. The goal of the Caucuses is to land on key goals for the issue area upon which Delegates are engaged. These key goals will make up the Black Agenda.
