2018 Oct 13-14 ABE Abridged Sequence Workshop at Pierce College
This Amgen Biotech Experience (ABE) Professional Development Institute will take place at Pierce College on October 13-14 from 8am-4pm each day.

Workshop Description: This workshop will provide training on the Abridged Sequence of the ABE curriculum. Participants will gain hands-on practice on current molecular biology techniques, including basic techniques such as micropipetting and gel electrophoresis, as well as advanced techniques such as gene recombination and bacterial transformation. Teachers who complete the training will be eligible to borrow the materials they need to be able to implement the labs that they have learned in their own classrooms.

Eligibility: This workshop is open to all teachers, including those who are new to the ABE program as well as teachers who have previously attended an ABE workshop. All participants are required to attend both full days of the workshop.

Application Process: Applications are due by Wednesday, September 19. Applicants should receive an email by Wednesday, September 26 notifying them of whether they have been accepted into the workshop. The maximum capacity of the workshop is 24 teachers.
