TO: Prospective RSA Applicants, Parents, and Guardians:
The goal of the admissions policy of Redding School of the Arts is to attract, enroll and retain the broadest spectrum of students and families representative of the rich diversity existing in the County. Redding School of the Arts identifies the following admission requirements and parameters for all students, including school-based students and home school students and including both Regular and Special Education students. Ed. Code § 47605(b)(5)(H) The School prohibits all unlawful discrimination against any student or employee based on actual or perceived characteristics of nationality, race, ethnicity, immigration status, religion, sex, gender, ethnic group identification, age, national origin, ancestry, genetic characteristics, mental or physical disability, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression or association with a person or group with one or more of these actual or perceived characteristics or other category protected by law. Application Procedures:
- Complete this Redding School of the Arts Application.
- Students placed on the waiting list will receive a verification letter stating their place on the waiting list.
- In the event of a vacancy, the school will admit students pursuant to the order specified on the waiting list and the school may require immediate enrollment in the school so as to avoid vacancies during the course of the school year.
Important Steps after being accepted:
Please note, once accepted into Redding School of the Arts, parents/guardians will need to provide the following documentation prior to a student’s first day of school.
1. Authorization for the school to request and receive student records form all schools the student has previously attended or is currently attending.
2. Copy of your student’s most recent report card.
3. A copy of your student’s 504 Plan or Individual Education Plan, if applicable.
4. Completed SARB Contract; RSA’s charter does not accept students that are on a SARB contract.
5. ALL TK‐8 students must have proof of immunizations or medical exemption. (Required for TK‐8).
6. Proof of health examinations required by the Health and Safety Code.
7. Proof of age- through documents such as birth certificate or baptism certificate duly attested. 8. Proof of residency- such as, driver’s license, utility bill, copy of lease, etc.
9. Parent and Student must read and sign RSA’s Family Handbook and agree to follow school policies within.
