This 2-day meeting will focus on enabling early career (undergraduate students, graduate students, postdocs) scientists to participate in ecological forecasting. The workshop will center on skill sharing between early career researchers, and broadening the EFI Student Association network. We will specifically focus on enabling students to participate in the EFI RCN NEON Ecological Forecast Challenge by providing skills-based workshops that teach fundamental and applied skills for forecasting, as well as highlighting student forecasts that are in progress to be submitted to the EFI RCN NEON Ecological Forecast Challenge. Participation will be limited to 50 attendees to maximize engagement and productivity during the meeting. To make the materials more broadly accessible for individuals who cannot attend, there will be an opportunity to access the recordings of select sessions following the meeting.
This form is to submit an abstract on your in-progress submission to the EFI RCN NEON Ecological Forecast Challenge. Forecasts do not need to be submitted in order to present, nor do presentations need to be results driven; presentations on methods and preparation of the forecast are also of interest.
Applications are due June 1. There are no registration fees. Further information is provided at the following webpage:
