The Nutcracker 2022 Participation Info + Waiver
Dear CSDA Families,

We are thrilled to be producing CSDA's The Nutcracker once again this December.

We are reaching out with important information and a request for parent confirmation of student participation and the associated fee. We need a minimum of 30 dancers to make this festive event happen. With already having multiple auditions and casting the production, there are still opportunities for additional students to participate if we receive your response by the deadline. So please be sure to complete this form immediately and no later than September 28th if your students will be participating.

We would greatly appreciate your reaching out via NextDoor/neighborhood lists, school email lists and your friends and family to see if there are any non-CSDA families who may have children who would like to participate in the production. If we reach the minimum of 30 dancers, the student participation fee will be $325 for the first sibling participating, with a 10% discount for any additional siblings. This helps defray the cost of costuming, scenery, backdrops, theatre rental fees, and all rehearsals. This non-refundable fee is due by October 1st.

Tickets will be available for purchase closer to the event. 

The dress rehearsal will be Saturday December 3rd and there will be two performances, an evening show, on Saturday December 3rd  and a matinee on Sunday December 4th at the Kreeger Auditorium of the Bender JCC, Rockville, MD.  (Please keep Friday December 2nd to Sunday December 4th available in case of changes).

Casting and Rehearsal Schedule: We will share the casting up until now (as always, subject to change) and the rehearsal schedule via email this evening and soon after on All regular rehearsals are held at the studio.

We are looking for community involvement (parents, grandparents, siblings and friends over 14) to help with staging props and sets, embellishing costumes, providing backstage assistance, building or donating small props, and participating in the Party scene:) We will also need volunteers to help with fundraising ideas or donation/sponsorship ideas or personal donations. Please let us know if you are interested in sharing your talents to make this a great production.

Parent confirmation: Please see the agreement text below, noting all of your participating students' names, and respond with your consent by September 28th  .

I confirm that my CSDA student(s) listed below may participate in CSDA's production of The Nutcracker, 2022. I agree to pay the non-refundable production fee by the deadline; ensure that my student attends rehearsals (unless ill or injured) and follows all instructions and studio and venue guidelines, understanding that not complying may result in a student being unable to participate.  I agree that I and my participating students will abide with the general waiver and publicity waiver that were signed for class registration, as they also apply to CSDA's The Nutcracker.
