How Applications will be Selected
Applications will be assessed by an Artistic Committee made up of local Vancouver improvisors Amy Shostak, Patrick Dodd, and Tia Glenn-Cooke. Application fees paid help us cover festival costs.

Our goal is to program a festival that is high-quality, diverse, and unique. We aim to invite a mix of established troupes, emerging troupes doing interesting new work, and individuals who bring with them rich and varied improv backgrounds.

We will email back all applicants in late June to let them know about the status of their applications.

A note for local troupes:
While we would love to include the entire community, we have increased budgetary restrictions this year, and will be programming fewer local groups. The good news is, we are offering longer set times than in previous years.
We encourage local groups to think about what would make a show at Vancouver Improv Fest different from your regular weekly or monthly programming. For example: perhaps you have a brand new form that challenges our ideas of improvisation... perhaps you'd like to collaborate with another local group to do something really cool... perhaps you've always wanted to do a show in a formal theatre space so you could use staging in a different way... or maybe you'd like to do a show involving projection or technology... or have a special celebrity guest! The sky is the limit!
