While we can't grow Bartlett Pears in South Dakota, we have many hardy varieties that will satisfy our taste for this fruit.  We recommend that you plant 2 DIFFERENT varieties for the best pollination and fruit set, Parker being one of those varieties.  Pear trees will be 4-5' tall when you receive them and you can expect fruit production to start 4-5 years from planting.  Pears are not annual bearers, we only get fruit from ours every 2-3 years because they bloom early in the spring and get caught by late frosts.  All our varieties are standard sized trees reaching 25-30' tall.

COMMENT BOX -If you need quantities other than what our order sheet has available, please tell us what you need in the comments box.
Pear Early Gold-this variety stays a little smaller in tree size that some of the others.  Pears have a tender crisp texture when fully ripe.  Pick them slightly green on the tree and let them finish ripening in a sunny place in the house.  (or the squirrels might steal them like they do mine)
Pear Luscious-Luscious is the closest variety that we can grow in South Dakota similar to a Bartlett.  This variety was developed at South Dakota State University and is very hardy for our state.  Great for fresh eating, baking and jams.
Pear Parker Pollinator-You will want to be sure to plant a Parker with your other varieties for good pollination and fruit set.  Parker have a chartreuse green fruit with a red blush.  Fruit is very firm, almost like an apple texture, but sweet and juicy.
