GM LECTURE: WHAT TO KNOW BEFORE COMPETING AT THE CYCC
Date / Time: Tues, May 7, 2024 at 4:30pm PST / 7:30pm EST for 1.5 hours
Platform: Zoom

Now that you have qualified to compete in the 2024 Canadian Youth Chess Championship (CYCC), likely you have many questions like:
- How should I prepare for the CYCC?
- What will the CYCC experience be like?
- etc.

This lecture will be presented by Team Canada Head Coach Grandmaster Gergely Szabo to those players who have newly qualified to play in the 2024 CYCC. It will provide insights on how to prepare for this prestigious youth tournament, as well as suggested types of training, book recommendations, etc. There will also be a Question & Answer session for the players and parents.

CFC Youth Coordinator Christina Tao will discuss the benefits of competing at the CYCC.

CFC is going to do another presentation focusing on players interested in all international tournaments including World Cadet, World Youth, World School, World Junior U20, PanAm Youth, PanAm School, PanAm Junior U20, North American Youth, North American School and North American Junior U20, U16 Chess Olympiad. Date: Jul 11, 2024 at CYCC after Round 5 starts.
