2026 Open Water Zones Athlete Application
South Texas will be taking a team of up to 48 swimmers to the 2026 Open Water Zones in League City, Texas
(Lake Longhorn)  4/24-4/26.  The team will be selected based on the 2025/2026 Short Course and 2025 Long Course season's distance events and age.  Swimmers must have an A time in at least one of the following events 400/500 (11/12), 800/1000, or /1500/1650(13&Up) Freestyle to apply.  (Distance swimmers are encouraged to apply regardless of time standard).  The 11/12 age group will be primarily based on the 400/500 Free. The 13&Over age group will be primarily based on the 1500/1650.  Age Group selection is as follows:  11/12, 13/14, 15-16, Open.  FINA AGE IS NOT BEING USED AT THIS EVENT.  Please note your age as of 4/24/26.

DEADLINE TO APPLY IS SUNDAY MARCH 8.  The Team will be selected no later than Friday March 13.  A payment of $400 must be made to South Texas Swimming once you have been selected to travel with the team otherwise your spot will be forfeited.  

Once all applications are received and the team is selected, you will receive more detailed information on the trip.

Failure to meet these conditions will result in non selection. 1) Swimmer must travel to and from event with team. 2) They must swim in all events entered by staff.  3) Parents are encouraged to attend the event; in order to maintain an team environment parents are discouraged from staying at the team hotel or traveling on same flight.
