HCPSS Secondary Language Arts Textbook Advisory Committee seeks members.
HCPSS is seeking Howard County teachers, citizens, and 11th Grade HCPSS students to serve on the Secondary Language Arts Textbook Advisory Committee.  This committee consists of teachers, students, parents, and community members who meet to advise, support, and advocate for the continuous improvement of the Secondary Language Arts program in order to ensure that all Howard County students are college and career ready.

The purposes of the committee are to give input and to assist in the development of language arts programs and resources at the middle and high school levels; to provide public support and advocacy for programs and initiatives in a variety of forums; to educate the community on the nature of effective language arts instructions and methods of promoting language arts growth in the home.

The primary focus of the the Secondary Language Arts Textbook Advisory Committee for the 2018-19 school year will be to review diverse text and consider where these texts can be embedded in the curriculum grades 6-12.

Membership would be for two years (2018-2020).  There will be committee meetings four to five times a year from 3pm- 5 pm at Centennial High School. If selected, you will receive an e-mail with additional information.
