The Official Youth Climate Report India Recruitment Form

The Official Recruitment Analysis for Youth Climate Report India

BE A REPORTER FOR YOUTH CLIMATE REPORT

Are you talkative? Passionate about climate change?
Then we want you on the Youth Climate Report video news team!
We’re looking for dynamic young people to interview climate change scientists and researchers on camera.
You’ll be teamed with a journalism student who will help organize and produce your interview segment (about 2-3 minutes in length).

HOW DOES IT WORK?

You’ll be paired with a university or college journalism student, who will act as your producer.
Youth Climate Report will suggest a climate change research scientist for you to interview. As the on-camera person, you’ll be responsible for doing background research on the scientist or researcher. You’ll also be responsible for developing a list of questions to ask your subject.
Your producer will organize the interview, help you with your questions, and do all the technical stuff – such as getting the establishing shots, shooting the interview and editing the final product. Interviews may be “in person” or long distance via Skype.
Sound interesting?

WHAT AGE DO I HAVE TO BE?

You must be under 25 years of age. Anyone under the age of 13 must have the signed permission of a parent.

BE A BLOGGER WITH YOUTH CLIMATE REPORT

We’re looking for talented writers, photo journalists and videographers to contribute to the Youth Climate Report blog.
Tell us about the effect climate change is having on you, your family and friends. Make it personal. Or send us news from your country or region.

BE A PRODUCER FOR YOUTH CLIMATE REPORT

As segment producers, you’ll help the reporter (one of our youth volunteers), organize the interview (we’ll find and contact the scientist), and handle the technical stuff – such as shooting and editing.
The news segment you produce will be posted to the Youth Climate Report blog and screened for delegates participating at The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change Conference (COP17) in Durban, South Africa. The goal of the edited report is to provide delegates attending COP17 with up-to-date information from leading scientists and researchers relating to climate change.

As a YCR producer, you will be required to:

Provide assistance to the reporter, and direction while on location
Send us a fully edited broadcast-ready video segment (about 2-3 minutes in length)
Supply us with unedited sound and video files so that we can cut your segment into a longer piece
For your work, you will receive:
A credit at the end of the news segment
A credit in any future compilation documentary produced
A credit on the Youth Climate Report Website
