AUTHOR CRITERIA:
Privacy and Fictionalization Clause: Authors agree
not to use real names or identifiable details of individuals in their
submissions. All characters must be fictionalized to protect privacy. Authors
are responsible for ensuring their stories are suitably altered to prevent
recognition of real individuals, including changing names, locations, and
potentially identifying characteristics.
Indemnity Clause: Authors shall indemnify, defend,
and hold harmless the anthology organizers, publishers, and their respective
agents from and against any claims, liabilities, losses, damages, costs, or
expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to
any breach of the author's representations, warranties, or obligations under
this agreement, including but not limited to the accuracy of materials
submitted and any claim of defamation, invasion of privacy, copyright
infringement, or any other cause of action arising from the content of the
author's contribution to the anthology.
Right to Remove Contribution Clause: If any author's
contribution is found to violate laws, privacy rights, or the anthology's
ethical guidelines, we reserve the right to remove the implicated story from
the anthology at any stage, without affecting the publication and sale of the
rest of the book. This ensures the integrity of the anthology and compliance
with legal and privacy standards, safeguarding the interests of all
contributing authors and the publishing entity.
COLLABORATIVE vs. PUBLISHING AUTHORS
Collaborative Authors: A collaborative author is an individual who contributes content to a book, typically a chapter or section, as part of a group effort.
Collaborative authors share their unique perspectives, experiences, and expertise on a common theme. In this type of project, all contributing authors work together to create a cohesive anthology. Collaborative authors’ names and headshots are often featured on the back cover of the book or, in some cases, inside the book, depending on the spacial needs of the book.
The collaborative author’s primary role is to provide valuable content and support the collective vision of the book.
Publishing Author(s): The publishing author(s), on the other hand, is responsible for the overall management, organization, and production of the book.
This includes coordinating the contributions of collaborative authors, overseeing the editing and design process, and handling the logistics of publication and distribution.
The publishing author’s name appears on the front cover of the book, as they are accountable for bringing the project to fruition. This role often involves significant risk, time, effort, and financial investment to ensure the book’s success.
PARTICIPATION INFORMATION:
Amendments and Updates: Please be aware that the guidelines, requirements, and code of conduct outlined in this document are subject to change without prior notice. It is the responsibility of each author and speaker to stay informed of any updates or amendments by regularly checking communications from the editorial team.
Authors and speakers may retain services outside of what the NAUWOU team provides, such as professional editors, ghostwriters, speaker coaches, or webinar/live organization support. These additional services will be at the author's or speaker's own expense.
Fees to Participate: To ensure commitment and accountability, we reserve the right to charge a registration fee at any time. While we will strive to keep these costs as low as possible, it is necessary to ensure that all participants are fully committed. For authors, the fee will help cover costs associated with book cultivation, including designs and professional editing. For speakers, this fee may be used to cover costs related to organizing live events and coaching sessions.
We will communicate any changes that may affect timelines, publication dates, or fees through the contact methods provided above.
Revenue Sharing: Please note that there will be no revenue sharing from the sale of the anthology. All proceeds from book sales will be used to further the printing of books for conferences and/or to support the costs associated to continued management of the book series. This ensures that the funds are reinvested into our shared mission of spreading awareness and supporting the community through these events.
CODE OF CONDUCT
We are committed to fostering a supportive and respectful environment for all participants in the anthology series. To ensure a positive and constructive atmosphere, the following Code of Conduct applies to all authors, speakers, and contributors:
Respect for All Participants: We expect all authors to treat one another with respect, regardless of differences in opinions, backgrounds, or experiences. Disagreements are natural, but they must be handled professionally and respectfully.
No Attacks on Adult Survivors: Attacking another adult survivor for any reason is strictly prohibited. This includes any form of harassment, bullying, or personal attacks in public or platform meetings. Disagreements should be expressed in a constructive and non-confrontational manner.
Consequences for Violations: Any author who engages in attacks or inappropriate behavior towards another adult survivor will be removed permanently from the platform and have their chapter removed from the anthology.
Focus on the Common Good: The goal of this anthology is to raise awareness about the invisible abuse of child psychological abuse. All contributions and discussions should focus on this mission and maintain a positive and collaborative tone.
By adhering to this Code of Conduct, we can ensure that our anthology remains a safe and supportive space for all contributors, enabling us to create impactful and meaningful work together.
UNDERSTANDING DIVERSE EXPERIENCES:
It’s important to recognize that while all our contributors share a connection to Parental Alienation (PA) or abduction, their experiences may also encompass other intersecting forms of trauma. We do not dictate how our authors share their lived experiences, but we do ask that they establish a direct connection to PA or abduction at the beginning of their chapter. This ensures that the invisible aspects of CPAPAA are highlighted, even if other forms of abuse are more immediately apparent in their stories.
HEALING AND READINESS TO CONTRIBUTE:
We are committed to creating a safe and empowering environment. Therefore, all contributors are required to have engaged in some form of therapy or self-healing process. This ensures that your message is conveyed from a place of peace, growth, and healing, rather than unresolved anger. Our objective is to provide an inspiring and constructive experience for our audience, focusing on solutions and personal evolution while addressing the challenges of the past.
HOLD HARMLESS AND LEGAL PROVISSIONS:
By agreeing to and participating in this anthology, the author agrees to hold harmless and indemnify the organizers, including Securing Everything LLC, the Thrivers Speak platform, and their representatives (hereinafter referred to as 'Securing Everything et al.'), from any claims, damages, or liabilities arising from their participation.
Any legal disputes will be governed by the laws of the State of Florida, with jurisdiction in the courts of Florida.
Parties agree to pursue mediation before any litigation. Should Securing Everything, et al. prevail in any legal action, they shall be entitled to recover attorney’s fees and costs. If you have any questions, please email us at thriversspeak@gmail.com.
AMENDMENTS AND UPDATES:
Please be aware that the guidelines, requirements, and code of conduct outlined in this document are subject to change without prior notice. It is the responsibility of each author to stay informed of any updates or amendments by regularly checking communications from the NAUWOU Anthology Development team.
We will communicate any changes that may affect timelines and publication dates through the contact methods provided above.
THE SELECTION PROCESS:
Thank you for your interest in participating. Upon submission, you should receive an email copy of your application. We will review all submissions and will contact selected individuals with further instructions as the event date approaches.
