Project AMP – Project AMP is a mentorship program that
pairs youth ages 13-17 with near-age peer mentors. Over four to six sessions,
youth will explore their interests, goals, and social and community support; as
well as their perceptions about mental & physical well-being, alcohol,
substance use, and related risks. Mentors and youth will work together to
identify coping skills, strategies and pathways to seek support, establish, and
work towards their goals. Project Amp utilizes motivational interviewing
skills, trauma informed communication and care, cultural competency, and youth
engagement, among other skills through peer mentoring.
