The Shepherd’s Ark, a program of The Animal Cause, Inc., is building a Christ-centered animal transport and rescue partnership network to help move vulnerable animals out of crisis and into safety.
This form is open to shelters, rescues, foster networks, receiving organizations, adopters, private pet owners, veterinary partners, and others who may have a legitimate animal transport need or partnership interest.
Submitting this form does not guarantee immediate transport availability. At this stage, we are gathering information so we can understand real transport needs, identify possible routes, connect with receiving partners, and build responsible shared transport opportunities.
Because long-distance animal transport is expensive and often requires multi-stop planning, routes are developed based on:
- animal safety,
- destination alignment,
- kennel availability,
- fuel and care costs,
- confirmed receiving capacity,
- medical readiness,
- and route feasibility.
We are especially interested in learning whether shelters, rescues, adopters, or other partners have existing Northern or out-of-state contacts, receiving organizations, foster placements, or adoption destinations.
We also welcome partners who are willing to help cross-share transport needs, route announcements, adoptable animals, and rescue stories on social media when appropriate.
New World Screwworm / Wound Screening Notice
Because of current concern regarding New World screwworm activity in Texas and surrounding areas, The Animal Cause / The Shepherd’s Ark is adding additional screening precautions for transported animals.
Before transport, sending partners must disclose any known wounds, skin lesions, open sores, surgical sites, draining areas, visible larvae, foul odor, or suspected parasite/wound infestation.
Animals with suspicious wounds, visible larvae, untreated lesions, or signs of possible infestation cannot be accepted for transport unless they have been evaluated and cleared by a veterinarian or appropriate animal-health authority.
This is for the safety of the transported animals, receiving partners, other animals on board, and the transport vehicle. Crates, carriers, and vehicle contact surfaces are sanitized between transports.
