Emerge Maine Legislative Boot Camp Application - 2017
The Emerge Maine is the premier political candidate training program for Democratic women in Maine who demonstrate an interest in pursuing public office. We have an unparalleled record of success and no other training program in Maine provides the same level of candidate support and training.

Emerge Maine is pleased to announce it has expanded its programming to include a boot camp version of its comprehensive program for women who are currently or will be running for legislature in 2018. This two and a half day intensive weekend will give women the training they need to run effective campaigns this coming year. Curricula will include the following topics presented by top tier political strategists and trainers from across the state:

Developing a Campaign Plan
Fundraising and Clean Elections
Legislating 101
Editorial Boards and writing LTEs
Public Speaking
Grassroots Field Campaigning
And much more!

The 2017 Boot Camp Program will meet from December 15th through December 17th at the Crosby Center in Belfast.

Tuition for the Emerge Boot Camp Program is $500. Tuition includes meals (dinner Friday and breakfast and lunch on Saturday and Sunday), all materials and connections to high level political consultants, trainers and current legislators. Accommodations are also included for those who want it. Tuition may be paid by personal or campaign committee accounts. Scholarships are available as is fundraising guidance.

The Emerge Maine Boot Camp program has been developed for Democratic women who are currently running for office in 2018. The curriculum is based on what women really need to jump-start their campaigns.

If you are thinking about pursuing public office in the next few years, we recommend applying for our six-month program beginning again in September, 2018. Our comprehensive six-month training program is designed to:
-Give a thorough overview of the political process and what it takes to run a successful campaign;
-Practice and strengthen political leadership skills such as public speaking and fundraising;
-Provide direction on how to develop a network of political supporters; and
-Provide an opportunity to meet women who hold elected offices in Maine and much more.

The deadline to submit applications for the legislative boot camp is Monday, Nov. 27th at 5:00pm.
Rolling interviews through Thursday, November 30th.
Those selected will be contacted on Friday, December 1st.

Please send your resume and 1 letter of recommendation to sarah@emergemaine.org by the application deadline.
