Library Makerspaces: Virtual Tours
Amy Vecchione (Boise State University) and Erika Rydberg (Plymouth State University) are teaming up to offer 3-4 virtual tours of library makerspaces during the first half of 2018. We are using this form to solicit nominations, topics, and people who you may want to see present, and also to allow folks to sign up to be a part of the virtual tours.

What’s a virtual tour?
A virtual tour is a conversation between library workers who are separated by geography, and can learn about from each other in a casual video tour where we share about our spaces. The style is a casual sharing of what your space looks like, and a peek into the intentions behind some design decisions.

As makerspaces are still new and are so widespread in our nation, holding virtual tours will help us improve our own makerspaces. Learning from others in real time will allow for shared expertise. Participants will learn best practices from other institutions, in a casual knowledge building way, and also learn shared challenges. Attending these virtual tours will help you get ideas for action items to improve spaces and services.

If you are interesting in attending the virtual tours, please add your email address here:
If you would like to see a virtual tour of another library makerspace, would you please nominate people or places here?
Thank you!
