Background and what the CPO & Supply Chain Sustainability Network offers
The increased sustainability and ESG focus prompts supply chain and purchasing professionals to gain more knowledge on sustainability risks and opportunities amongst their suppliers, and the right tools to manage these. When it comes to procurement, focusing on price or service levels is no longer enough; leading Chief Procurement Officers (CPOs) and supply chain executives must build strategic sustainability into their procurement function. These implications are explored in the Chief Procurement Officer (CPO) & Supply Chain Sustainability Network.

Supply chains and purchasing are critical aspects of the business model, which need to see sustainability integrated in a strategic and holistic manner. Companies face complex sustainability challenges in their global supply chains, that cover a wide range of Sustainable Development Goals, from GHG emissions and climate targets to human rights violations and corruption.  Additionally, many stakeholders are demanding that companies have greater transparency in their supply chains and a sustainability agenda that reaches far beyond tier one.

The CPO & Supply Chain Sustainability Network builds on the idea that executives and decision makers in the field of supply chain management and purchasing are key resources in the sustainable business agenda.

The target group of The CPO & Supply Chain Sustainability Network are CPOs, Supply Chain Executives and other decision makers in the field. It aims to encourage and enable them to contribute to corporate sustainability transformations, by aligning procurement functions and targets to materiality issues and tuning and reconfiguring supply chains and procurement functions to to be more inclusive, resilient and transparent.

The objective is to provide a safe space and solution-oriented arena for supply chain and purchasing professionals looking for practical insight, knowledge transfer and learning on the topic of sustainability specifically relevant to their roles.

The CPO & Supply Chain Sustainability Network is owned by S-HUB and operated jointly with the strategic board, and potential corporate partners of S-HUB. A Strategic Board of 4-7 representatives from the network will help set direction and develop the network. All network fees go to Sustainability Hub Norway and support the coordination of the network activities.
