2) Make an impact on an SDG through a social venture or research-based project; and
3) Explore possible future career paths that blend business, social impact and sustainability
Working in groups, Fellows will identify the SDG theme of greatest interest to them, and develop a solution. Projects may take the form of a social or sustainable venture, or a research-based deliverable of your choosing. Many students choose to take a local lens, narrowing in on a a specific NYC neighborhood, or focusing on where they are from. You can check out highlights from past Fellows' projects here:

Examples of new social ventures that students have worked on in the past include:
- A social venture to improve access to quality food in a neighborhood of NYC (SDG 2)
- Launching a venture focused on supporting mental health in NYC (SDG 3)
- A finance app to support small business loans and financial literacy for marginalized communities (SDG 10)
Research-based deliverables might include:
- A TikTok awareness campaign that debunks vaccine misinformation (SDG 3)
- An Infographic promoting a more sustainable bus system in NYC (SDG 9)
- A research and interview series on empowering women in the workplace (SDG 5)
- A board game that teaches financial literacy skills, or an online game, e.g carbon trading (SDG 13)
- A voter registration campaign leveraging social media, and targeting GenZ (SDG 16)
- A podcast focused on civic engagement and voting rights in the US (SDG 16)... and more!
Students who demonstrate a passion for and commitment to Social Impact will be named Fellows at the end of the semester. Fellows commit to attending biweekly group sessions led by faculty, and meeting in their smaller groups with upper class-year mentors (BSP Guides) on alternating weeks. Fellows will have the opportunity to present their final deliverables to a UN expert panel at the end of the semester. Fellows will also be invited to attend additional events and special programming throughout the semester.
