Part 1 – Reading Comprehension
First Dance in Space

In 2018, astronauts aboard the International Space Station proved that people will dance anywhere—even in space. Russian astronaut Anton Shkaplerov led the crew in a small but joyful dance. The video quickly spread on social media.

Dancing in space looks very different. With no gravity, the astronauts floated, spun, and twisted slowly, almost like underwater ballet. Every step became a bounce, and every turn looked like slow motion.

For the astronauts, dancing was more than fun. It was a way to relax, build team spirit, and stay connected to life back on Earth. Music and movement helped keep morale high during long missions.

The “space dance” reminded everyone watching that no matter where we go—Earth, space, or beyond—humans will always find a way to celebrate, move, and enjoy music together.
