KPL Edible Book Festival

What: Create an edible book simply by creating something edible that is somehow book-related. Think book titles, characters, plots, literary figures, puns on book titles, etc. For inspiration check out our Pinterest "Edible Books" board (www.pinterest.com/kearneylib) or do an online search for edible books.

Who: Participation is open to anyone! Anyone can enter or just stop by and enjoy the Edible Book Festival! Be sure to vote for your favorite in each of the categories and age groups, even if you don’t submit an entry of your own.

Where: Kearney Public Library, 2020 First Ave., upstairs meeting rooms

When: Wednesday June 28 (Registration deadline is June 21)

11:30 am-1:00 pm – Deliver and set up entries
1:00 pm-1:30 pm – Judging
1:30 pm-2:00 pm – Public viewing and voting for People’s Choice
2:00 pm – Announcement of winners followed by eating KPL's edible book
2:30 pm-5:30 pm - Pick up entries

    Guidelines:

    Entry deadline is Wed. June 21. Forms available at KPL, on the bookmobile, or on KPL’s webpage at www.kearneylib.org. Click on the Edible Book logo or the Classes and Events tab on the left. Admission and registration are free. One entry per participant. Entries must be made of at least 95% edible materials. Entries must be family-friendly. KPL reserves the right to reject any entry that is inappropriate. The base size of each entry can be no larger than 20"x 20." Entries will not be refrigerated nor will they be served. All entries will be photographed and, with permission, will be posted to KPL's Facebook page along with your first name and last initial. Participants need not be present to win. Entries must be picked up by 5:30 pm on June 28 or they will be discarded.
