Mancos Stream Corridor Mapping Update

Major stream corridors in the vicinity of the Town of Mancos were mapped using the State of Colorado’s Fluvial Hazard Mapping Protocol (www.ColoradoFHZ.com). Project lead Michael Blazewicz of Round River Design will be sharing an overview of the mapping process and findings. Management recommendations for improving stream corridor resiliency through hazard avoidance, reduction, and mitigation will be shared along with examples of how the community can utilize these maps as a planning tool moving forward. The information is shared with the goal that our community has increased resilience to the impacts of floods and droughts through improved understanding and management of stream corridor processes and functions.
