By completing this form, you are committing to join the Rutgers University Marching Band for the 2025 season. Please read this section in its entirety before completing the form.
It is understood that this commitment is contingent upon your finalized Fall 2025 academic schedule of the university as explained below. The time block for rehearsal this year will be Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 5:40PM-7:40PM (Color Guard: 6:00PM-9:00PM on Monday; 5:40PM-7:40PM on Wednesday & Friday). This may not be the exact time indicated on your academic schedule. We are willing to work with students that may have conflicts (up to 2 hours per week) and will provide special permission numbers to assist students in registering for the course.
By signing up, you are also agreeing to register for the Marching Band course (07:337:01) for the Fall semester. The season begins with band camp and concludes with two mandatory spring 2026 performances (Spring Game & Rutgers Day Parade). You are expected to perform at all seven (7) home games, potential road game(s) (TBD), bowl game, and any other full band/pep band performances that may be added to the schedule. Final detailed schedules will follow as we approach the summer months. Final grades for the academic course will be contingent on your ability to complete attendance requirements.
***We accept students from any New Jersey university/college that does not have an active marching band program. All of these students are required to complete a hardcopy waiver form which will be provided prior to the start of the season.***

You will be asked to provide sizes for apparel that will be provided by the MSK. These sizes will be used to order your gear for the year. Sizing guides can be found HERE (link has tabs to go to men's and women's sizes). If not specifically stated, sizes in the form will be based on MALE sizes.
Additionally, the MSK requires all new members to order shoes. Returning members have the option to order new shoes or use their pair from the previous season. Color guard members, we do not currently have a sizing guide, but one will be available before we order if you need to change the size you choose. Please note that you will be responsible for paying several fees as part of your participation. These are one time fees for the season:
$30 uniform fee for cleanings (all members)
$35 equipment fee for basic maintenance (all members)
$45 shoe fee (all new members & any returning member needing new shoes)
Fees will be collected at each summer rehearsal and at camp registration. All fees can be paid with cash or check. Details will be sent once finalized.
Please note that the mental and physical well-being of all members is of the utmost importance. The mandatory MSK health form is now a part of the registration form. In order to complete this form, you will need your insurance information available. After review of all health forms, students may be contacted to fill out additional paperwork based on specific medical conditions to ensure safety while participating in the MSK.
