Food Rescue Volunteer Application Form
Thanks for your interest in volunteering with Kiwi Community Assistance (KCA)! Volunteers are at the centre of all the work our organisation does, and we currently have over 90 amazing people committing time to KCA.
PLEASE NOTE: volunteers MUST have their own transport to get to and from our Grenada North warehouse, as we are not on a public transport route.
In 2020 (even in the COVID environment) our volunteers rescued and redistributed over 327 tons of food and over 3,100 boxes of clothing, shoes, linen, homewares, school supplies, kids toys, and more to those in our community who need it most - for free!
KCA provides stock to 77 groups across the Wellington Region, including: local schools, soup kitchens, food banks, refuges, homeless support services, childcare centres, mental health support services, youth development organisations, refugee and migrant support services, and boarding houses.
Please fill in this form if you're interested in joining our volunteer team. Even if there are no shifts available right now, we really encourage you to apply so we can get you involved as soon as something becomes available. As we communicate via email and texts, it is important you check your messages daily.
Volunteering at KCA involves working as part of a team, having good time-keeping, following instructions, and good communication skills. As lifting heavy boxes may be part of the role (up to 20kg between two people), a reasonable level of health and fitness is important. PLEASE DO NOT APPLY FOR THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE HAD BACK PROBLEMS.
Finally, we understand that your privacy is important. The personal information you provide in this form will only be used for the purposes of managing your volunteering with KCA.
KCA is big; we are fast; we are flexible; and we help thousands in need.
