Eating Disorder Epidemiology Journal Club
The Eating Disorder Epidemiology Journal Club focuses on emerging public health-oriented research on eating disorders and related weight and body image concerns. We discuss and critique articles that document prevalence, assess multilevel risk and protective factors, and evaluate interventions. In particular, we seek to highlight research centered on experiences of marginalized communities and understudied populations in ED research. While our focus is primarily on epidemiology and public health, we also review articles from other disciplines that have relevance for eating disorder prevention and treatment.
We currently meet via Zoom on the third Tuesday of each month from 12:00 - 1:00 pm Central US time. This time is subject to change based on member input and shifting availability. For Fall 2021, we are meeting on the following days: Sept. 21, Oct. 19, Nov. 16, and Dec. 21.
For each meeting, one person (rotating) is responsible for selecting a relevant journal article and providing a brief (5-10 minutes) overview of the study's background, methods, results, and conclusions.
We are always welcoming new members! If interested in joining, please fill out this form with your contact information so you can be sent the Zoom links.
