FAccT 2023 - Bandwidth & Carer Grants

Please fill out this form by May 15 for full consideration. After this date, applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis if there are remaining funds.

FAccT 2023 is happy to provide grants meant to lower barriers of access to the conference. Please use this form to apply to the following:
(1) Internet bandwidth grants: Intended to cover extra costs of internet access if your current internet bandwidth is a barrier to your participation in the conference.
(2) Carer grants: Intended to provide subsidy of extra costs for caring for dependents if your caregiving responsibilities are a barrier to your participation in the conference.

(3) Aid Registration: Intended to provide free registration to an aid required to enable your participation in the conference

If you would like to apply to either (or both) of these grants, please submit this application form. Please note that the grants will be provided in the form of reimbursement and will require you to provide receipts.

The personal data we collect in this form will be used only for the purpose of allocating financial support to attendees of ACM FAccT 2023 who request it. There is no obligation to answer any question marked "[optional]" when applying for a grant.

Only the Financial Support Chair, the Diversity and Inclusion Chairs, and the General Chairs will have access to the personal data gathered in this form. If the financial support is granted, ACM will be informed of the name, e-mail address, whether a registration fee waiver was granted, and the amount of the travel grant for the purposes of processing their registration and reimbursing expenses or pay the amount granted.

This data will only be used to make decisions on the travel awards and is accessible only to the members of the organizing committee who make decisions and ACM staff who distribute awards. This form is owned by a Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF) Google Account and the data is subject to the contract between UPF and Google. The personal data will be deleted when all financial matters for FAccT 2023 are closed by ACM. Applicants have the right to access, modify, and delete their application data at any point by e-mailing general-chairs@facctconference.org. Aggregated data will be retained for planning future FAccT conferences and for evaluating FAccT's progress on the strategic plan.
