Department of Computer Science Professional Development Fund Application
The Department of Computer Science administers awards for up to $750 to help students defray the cost of travel to present at research conferences or meetings of regionally or internationally recognized professional societies, organizations, or industries.

Applications are reviewed on a monthly basis and should be submitted no later than 2 months in advance of planned travel. If funds are awarded, students will be:

-Reimbursed for cost to attend the conference (up to $750)
-Required to submit a Travel Approval Request (TAR)
-Required to submit documentation and/or proof of attendance
-May be asked to share or present information about the conference

Funds are supported by the Department of Computer Science and the Maryland Center for Women in Computing (MCWiC). Students may receive Professional Development Funds only once per academic year, excluding Grace Hopper funding.

*Students interested in applying to attend the Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing must apply for funding using the MCWiC scholarship application available each May.*

Best consideration deadline: First day of the month.

Undergraduate students in computing majors and Computer Science graduate students are eligible to apply.
