The Trees Matter McPherson Award honors exemplary work and extraordinary efforts to inspire and expand the Valley’s tree canopy.
Applications for 2025 are due October 10th.
Since 2018, twelve individuals have received the award. View past recipients

Areas for consideration:
Tree Planting/Distribution/Care:
recognizing individuals, organizations, or businesses that have demonstrated
outstanding commitment and innovation in planting trees, restoring green
spaces, and improving the urban forest.
Tree Advocacy:
recognizing individuals or organizations that have made significant
contributions to promoting and advocating for urban forests, green
infrastructure, and sustainable development practices that support tree growth.
Tree Education:
recognizing individuals, educators, schools, or organizations that have
developed innovative programs and initiatives that inspire and educate
communities about the benefits of trees, their importance to the environment,
and the ways in which they can contribute to creating a healthier, more
sustainable future. Please email
