2021-2022 State Officer Intent to Run Form
Thank you for your interest in serving as a North Carolina FCCLA State Officer. This form is the first step in the State Officer Election process. Please provide some quick contact information details.

Per the NC FCCLA bylaws, students interested in running for a State Officer position must meet the following eligibility requirements:
* Possess an overall unweighted GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Middle school students must have an unweighted scholastic average of 85 or above.
*Be a member in good standing for one year, or in the process of completing an active membership in an affiliated chapter. Member in good standing means that the student is affiliated, and is currently enrolled in an FCS course, or has completed an FCS course.
*Must be a rising 7th-12th grade. (Rising 7th-8th graders will be considered for the V.P. of Middle School position.)

Students who are not affiliated, with payment made, by Friday, Feb. 12th will be disqualified from running.

In addition to this form, State Officer Candidates will also be required to fully complete the following:
*Power of One Award Application - submitted by the State Officer Candidates adviser in the chapter portal, by Mar. 1, 2021.
*2021-2022 State Officer Application, to include Essay Questions, Candidate Support Forms, and Candidate Forms; as well as an FCCLA Resume, and Official Transcript submitted by Friday, Mar. 12th at 5:00 pm here: https://forms.gle/6uWwDMXLffQw513WA. All of these documents and information can be found on the NC FCCLA website, under Student Forms and Resources.
*2 Letters of Recommendation to be completed by school or community professionals, and submitted by the person writing the letter here: https://forms.gle/tsfAAsCEgifmdJrY6. These are also due by Friday, Mar. 12th at 5:00 pm.

State Officer Candidates will be eligible to compete in a STAR Event this year, but must weigh the costs if they are elected as a State Officer, and also qualify for NLC with their STAR Event, as State Officers will not be eligible to compete in STAR Events at NLC.

Reminders and Dates/Deadlines
Your completed application, including attachments, is due by 5:00 pm on Friday, Mar. 12th. Applications submitted, or received after this date, will not be accepted. If you're mailing your application, it should be postmarked no later than Wednesday, Mar. 10th. Once your application is received, and your eligibility is verified, you will be sent an email with complete details of the 2021-2022 State Officer Election process.

Be mindful of the following dates/deadlines regarding the 2021-2022 State Officer Election Process:
Power of One Summary Submission Form - Mar. 1
Pre-Recorded Speech Due - Friday, Mar. 26th
General FCCLA Knowledge Test - Tuesday, April 6th
State Officer Candidate Orientation (via Zoom) - Monday, April 12th
State Officer Candidate Introductions during Opening Session - Monday, April 12th
State Officer Candidate Networking with Voting Delegates (via Zoom) - Tuesday, April 13th
State Officer Elections - Wednesday, April 14th

State Officer Candidates will receive an email the evening of Wednesday, April 14th to announce if they were elected as a 2021-2022 State Officer. State Officer Candidates who are elected will move into the next round to complete State Officer Selection Interviews, as well as second round of letter drops to notify the state officer of the position they will serve during the 2021-2022 year, and participate in the State Officer Installation Ceremony at the closing session during SLC.
