COURSE DESCRIPTION:

“Speak Lord your servant is listening” (1 Samuel 3:10)

The books of 1 and 2 Samuel present the hereditary monarchy of Israel from David onwards as a system of government that God desired for his people. They portray David as a model king, who, despite his personal limitations and his transgressions, always enjoyed the Lord’s favour; he kept to the Lord’s plans and if he sinned he sought forgiveness. The books of Samuel form one continuous narrative which shows how God works among his people, his plan of salvation and how his Covenant remains in place despite the sins of men.
