This is a FREE Pilot Skills-Building Certificate Course - GREAT for Resumes and designed to empower you with skills, connections and a pathway for future opportunities. Developed with support by the Mental Health Foundation Nova Scotia and Nova Scotia Power.

This is a hybrid virtual course with both self-guided e-learning AND virtual-live Group and Individual Zoom Meets. Applicants will be selected based on location and ability to commit to 4 Week program.

A commitment of approximately 1.5 Hours per Week over 4 Weeks is required, including access to a computer with good wifi quality, web cam and microphone.

Course Dates: THRIVE will begin on Monday, FEBRUARY 6 and run 4 Weeks culminating in a live-virtual Mock Interview and our Course Wrap with certificate presentation and graduation gift.
This is a Modular course meaning participants engage in the week's activities, complete lessons and activities and assignments (approx. 2 hours commitment per week). Each will week will have weekly submission deadlines.
Course Requirements:
- Applicants must self-identify as 2SLGBTQ+ and be 16-to-25 years old and be currently living within Nova Scotia.
- Have access to reliable wifi and computer/phone with video and sound.
- Be excited to engage in building interview and presentation skills, a professional resume with cover letter templates and participate in a Mock Interview via video at the end of the program.
Here are some of the topics we will be covering in the 4 Week online and interactive Certificate program:
- Interview and presentation skills that set you up for success;
- Creating a stand-out resume with customizable options for easy adaptations;
- Exploring career pathways aligning your interests to support you in building a roadmap to achieve your future goals;
- Understanding how to align your resume and interview skills with job postings.
As participants in the second iteration of this program, you will play a key role in shaping future iterations with potential future mentorship opportunities!
Upon successful engagement in the full course all participants will receive a SPECIAL Thank You THRIVE GIFT PACK along with their Certificate of Completion, Reference letter and connections with professionals who are excited to support you on your pathway to the future.
