A "Letter to the Editor" is written by a community member rather than a newspaper staff member and is someone's opinion about a current issue. This could be something having to do with school, Olympia, or outside of Olympia. The issue can be something the newspaper has or hasn't covered. It is similar to a persuasive essay.
