Room 19, 22 and 21: Monday 6th May - Wednesday 8th May
Room 20 and 23: Wednesday 8th May - Friday 10th May
The cost of camp will be $85 which includes the cost of meals, accommodation, Brookfield Camp activities and activities at Naenae Pools. The cost of camp deducted from your parent account or paid at the school office by eftpos by May 3rd 2019.
Students will participate in a range of activities over two days. Activities include: Canoeing, Confidence Courses, Hiking, Outdoor cooking, Flying fox and other outdoor bush survival activities. We are hoping to include abseiling as an activity but the abseiling tower is currently being refurbished. We have included the cost of this activity into the price for camp. If it does not go ahead then you will be refunded this amount to your parent account.
On the third day of camp, we have booked Naenae pools.
Excellent parental support has always been a feature of Hongoeka camps. This year, we will be taking 5 parents per class - 10 - 15 parents per camp.
Please note - these parent helpers need to be able to stay for the entire duration of the camp. If you wish to come on camp as a camp parent can you please indicate on the google form by Monday 1st April. Parents who wish to attend camp overnight will need to consent to police vetting and attend a parent meeting the week prior to camp.
If there are more than 6 parents from a class willing to come on camp, class teachers may have to do a ballot. Teachers will notify parents as soon as possible so parents can make plans and book leave.
On day one, please send your child with morning tea and lunch in a named lunchbox and water in a named screw top drink bottle. Meals and snacks will be provided on all other days for children and the overnight parents.
Please inform the teacher if there are foods your child shouldn’t eat. If your child requires a special diet, please contact the teacher so you can come up with an alternative meal arrangement.
Please provide a container of home baking (in a “named” container) for the students to share. Please do not use nut products in your baking.
We will need additional parents to help us transport the children to camp and help us with camp set up. We will also need parents to help transport children home from camp and also assist with supervision at Naenae Pools on Day 3. Please indicate on the google form if you are able to assist us with transport on Day 1 or Day 3 of camp.
